Casali Cottage is divided into three floors. The top floor is a large loft which is perfect for reading, sketching for your artists, relaxing or grabbing a quiet nap. The next floor down has the living room, dining area, kitchen, guest half bath and master suite with ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom is quite large with king-size bed, master bathroom, vanity, color TV and walk-in closet. All of the rooms on this floor have vaulted ceilings, and the living room also has skylights, providing natural light which makes the cottage both cheerful and bright. The living room features a corner gas fireplace providing warmth for those chilly nights. The entertainment center consists of a large color TV, VCR, DVD player, AM/FM/CD stereo, and a nice collection of music and movies. Additionally, we have a library of books where you can find a good read for a lazy day on Tennis Island North!
The kitchen is well equipped with service for eight. The large refrigerator has an icemaker, and new appliances include a coffeemaker, blender, toaster, microwave, etc. The large island with twin sinks is perfect for entertaining and meal prep, and the breakfast bar at the island offers relaxed seating for light meals or cocktails. The dining table seats 6 to 8.
One of the best things about the main floor is the view of the Tennis Island boat basin and St. Lawrence River. A cantilevered awning with remote control brings lots of shade to the top outside deck. The upper deck on the main floor is quite large, and has a wrought-iron dining table with 6 chairs, two rocking chairs, and two Adirondack chairs. Stairs from the deck descend to the ground level toward the docks and common areas.
The next level down (and the main level of entry) consists of two guest bedrooms, guest bath, a coat closet, washer and dryer, a sitting area featuring antique boat photos, and access to the garage. One bedroom features a double bed, and the second has a single day bed with trundle bed beneath. Both bedrooms have sliding doors to the enclosed porch or sunroom. The sunroom has large, sliding windows with screens, and sunshades for privacy as needed. This room is decorated in an island motif with comfortable modern rattan furniture and a color TV for family enjoyment. Steps down to the ground level are accessible through a storm door.
Yet another deck is at ground level. This intimate area is built into the native granite bedrock, and offers a cool place for reading, visiting friends, and relaxing. The lower deck has a unique hanging chair with ottoman, an Adirondack chair, a small Bistro dining table with two raised stools. Four steps lead you down to the docks and boat basin. The historic foot bridge across the lagoon was built by George Boldt in the early 1900's. From here, you can walk to the Boldt Castle Boat House or to Joey's for a wonderful meal.
The cottage has both central air conditioning and heat, and is also well insulated as well. You get modern conveniences coupled with old-time charm and pace.
